“Mommy Teacher Fashionista” is all about making everyday life as a mom, teacher, and little girl at heart (who still loves to play dress up) more meaningful, creative, and fun! It’s about inspiring others to have the courage to be themselves and to stay focused on the things that matter most.
I am the author of the book: Educate the Heart: Screen-Free Activities for Grades PreK-6 to Inspire Authentic Learning.
A Little Information About Why I Wrote the Book:
The idea of a curriculum that makes the social emotional learning needs of students a priority and ensures that all children are being taught to think critically, collaborate effectively, communicate respectfully, and express themselves creatively has been my vision for many, many years.
In a world where children are rushed from place to place, often on devices, we as educators and parents need to create an environment where they are given time and allowed to focus, to think, to create, and to learn.
Giving children the love they need and the time to develop competence is critical in the overall development of a child.
The ideas, activities, and lesson plans in Educate the Heart cater to the well-being of the whole child.
It is a framework full of hands-on, practical, and engaging opportunities that will empower students to handle conflict through kindness, implement effective and meaningful mathematical discourse, and extend their learning in all academic subjects in creative and challenging ways.
